Hunter, 12 months old, with Tigger

Hunter’s favorite thing about his birthday presents- climbing on the boxes and sitting on them.

New things from this month- Hunter is walking!  He is so fast and gets into everything!

Hunter hasn’t picked up many new words this month, but he certainly speaks quite a bit of jibberish :-)   In addition to the words he started saying last month, he says “tock, tock” which he whispers when he sees a clock and he also says “nigh, nigh” which seems to mean that he is tired or that he wants to nurse.

Hunter is still nursing 2-3 times during the day.  Some nights it seems like he wants to nurse constantly and other nights he will only nurse once or twice.  He is doing better with table foods.  He loves every fruit he has ever tried and does good with his vegetables too.  He seems to like meat, but he just chews and chews it and doesn’t swallow it.  So for now I’m still using baby food for his meats.

Hunter is 30 1/2 inches long which is in the 60th percentile and he is 22lbs, 5 oz which is in the 45th percentile.  He wears 12 month clothes and is still in size 4 diapers.

11 Months Old

Hunter got sick the evening before he turned 11 months.  He started feeling warm during the evening and by 10:30pm he was super hot and throwing up.  I was ready to take him to the ER but his pediatrician talked to me (I LOVE Hailey and Hunter’s pediatrician!) and told me the high fever came with the virus going around and that it was okay, I didn’t need to take him to the ER.  Anyways, he wasn’t really in the mood for many pictures, so here are a few that I did take:

Hailey was home from school, also feeling sick (with a horrible cough).  Hailey and Hunter read a book together.

Hunter- 11 months (and not in the mood for anymore pictures) and Hailey- 6 years old.

Earlier this month, Hunter started standing on his own, without holding on.  This picture it from a couple of weeks ago, but I had to include his big accomplishment!

Other new things this month:

Hunter’s 5th tooth came in.  Yay!

Hunter has a few words… it’s amazing how fast he picks everything up!!  He says mama and dada (which stands for Daddy and Dottie).  Hunter also says “Hey-yee” for Hailey.   He holds phones up to his ear and says “Hey-yo.”  His favorite thing to say is “Uh-oh!”  He loves to throw things on the floor or “drop” them and say “Uh-oh.”  When we ask Hunter what the cow says he gets a big smile and says “Baaaaa.”  No matter how many times we tell him it’s “moooo” he still smiles and says “Baaaaa.”  Hunter also knows several signs- he does signs for more, eat, drink, doggie and milk.

Hunter gets into everything and definitely keeps me on my toes!!  He is one busy little guy.  He is funny too- one day he took apart the heating vent in the living room, which he knows he’s not supposed to do.  He left it lying on the floor and quickly crawled to the kitchen and sat down. Then every few seconds he would crawl back and peek into the living room at the vent he had taken apart.

Sleep is the same as it always has been.

Hunter is still nursing, he nurses 3 times during the day and usually once or twice during the night.  He eats some table foods, but is still mostly eating baby foods.  With the table foods he just chews and chews and never swallows,  so I guess he’s not really ready for them yet.

No appointment this month, so I don’t know his height/weight.  He is still wearing 12 month clothes and wearing size 4 diapers.

Hailey has actually been 6 for almost 3 weeks but I wanted to wait until she had her 6 year physical to post so I would know her height. She is now 46 1/2 inches tall and in the 75th percentile.

Developmentally- Hailey is in first grade and is doing fantastic!! She loves school and loves learning. When I ask her if she likes school she says, “I don’t like it.  I LOVE it!”  Hailey loves to read!  She is such a good reader and is always up for a challenging book.  She does great with all of her school work, she is such a hard worker.

A few of Hailey’s favorite things at age 6: “I like grilled cheese.  I like to have fun with my family.  I like playing with Barbies, coloring in coloring books, doing puzzles and watching movies.  My favorite friends are Morgan, Daniel, Emily and Josh.”

10 Months Old

Tigger with Hunter at 10 months old.  It was so hard to get a picture this month!

Hunter likes to play peek-a-boo using his bedroom door.

Hunter will use anything that he can to help himself stand.

I can’t believe he’s already 10 months old!

I think he’s close to walking!  He has started standing up and letting go, just standing there not holding on to anything.  He hasn’t tried to take any steps yet, but I know that’s coming soon enough.

Everything Hailey does, Hunter has to do too.  If Hailey screeches, Hunter screeches.  If Hailey makes a funny noise, Hunter makes a funny noise.  If Hailey plays the piano, Hunter plays the piano.  He sure does look up to her and wants to do everything she does.  When Hunter plays the piano he sings too- he’ll say “aaaaahhhhhh.”  He also does that when someone sings, he waits for the person to stop singing and then he sings back.

Hailey- 6 years old, Hunter 10 months old

New stuff from this month:

Hunter’s 4th tooth came in a day after he turned 9 months old.  He is now working on two more top teeth.

Hunter had a very busy month checking out our house since he is now a speedy crawler.  He started to crawl about a week before turning 9 months, so this last month he has been very busy finding anything and everything that he could possibly get into.  He is such a busy little boy!!  We have to keep the bathroom and bedroom doors closed to keep him out.  But now that he is standing up all the time he tries to reach the door knobs.  He also tries to reach the top of the gate at the stairs and he works hard seeing if he can get it open.

One of Hunter’s favorite games to play is- throw my toys down the stairs and see who will go get them for me :-)   He also loves to be chased… he’ll crawl a little ways, then sit and look at me and giggle, then crawl again- waiting for me to chase him.  It’s just too cute.  He has just started to help clean up his toys- when I sing the “Clean Up” song, he will stop what he is doing and start putting his toys into his bins.  I love it!!  He doesn’t like it too much when I help- he’ll tip the bin and look for whatever I put in there so he can take it back out hahaha

Sleep has been a little bit better, but only because he sleeps with me and Rich.  For nap time I usually have to hold him while he sleeps (my facebook time) or lay down with him.  He immediately wakes up if I try to put him in his crib.  At night he’ll go into his crib for a little while, maybe an hour at most, then he comes and gets into bed with us.  It’s working for now and we’re all getting more sleep, so we just have to do what works.

Hunter is still not really doing table foods- for the most part he’ll chew and chew and then just keep the food in his mouth and not swallow it.  Eventually I have to take it out of his mouth.  There are some table foods he eats, but for the most part he’s still eating baby food.  He loves sweet potatoes and yogurt- I think those are his 2 favorites.

Hunter did not have a check-up this month so I don’t know his weight/height.  I think he weighs around 21 pounds.  I know he’s gotten longer but when I tried to measure him he was shorter than last month, so I don’t think I got a very good measurement hahaha.  He is now wearing 12 months or 12-18 month clothes.  He is still wearing size 4 diapers.
