A Little Weekend Fun

On Saturday we decided to go on a little picnic to a nearby park. Rather than make an actual picnic dinner we decided to just pick up some Wendy’s and head to the park. When we got to the park and took out our food we realized that our burgers had been made completely wrong. We asked for everything on the burgers- lettuce, tomato, pickles, etc. Instead they put nothing on the burgers. Just meat and cheese on a bun. Now whose fault do you think it was that the burgers were wrong? I think it was Wendy’s fault. But Rich- he thought it was my fault for not taking our food out of the bag, opening each burger up and checking to make sure they were right before we left Wendy’s. Ummm- no, I will not do that, ever. But Rich is more than welcome to do that if he wants to.

Anyhoo, after that minor incident we had a wonderful time. Hailey fed most of her food to the birds- which caused a large gathering of birds around our picnic table. Then we walked around and Hailey ran around. Hailey spotted the carousel so we took a ride on it.

I know you can’t really tell by the look on her face, but she loved it.

After the ride was over Hailey wanted to go again.  When she found out we were only taking one ride it was not pleasant.  There was screaming and crying and yelling “MORE RIDE!”  We distracted her for a little while by watching some boats.  But when it was time to go home and she realized we were not going on the carousel again there was more screaming and crying.  And it continued for most of the way home.  And it continued for a while after we were home too with her yelling, “I WANT RIDE!  I WANT RIDE!”

Anyhoo we actually did have a really nice time.  But aren’t these toddler years fun?

I would have loved your hamburgers (or as my daughter Lilly would call them… Hanngaburs). I order mine plain all the time. Just meat, cheese, and bun. So unoriginal. I know.

  2. That sounds like a good day- minus the messed up food and tantrums (from both of your ‘kids’…hee hee hee!)

Riley has tantrums like that ALL the time- minus the talking of course. he just yells and screams noises and cries pretty much every time he can’t do what he wants. Fun times for the mom!

Sounds like you had a lot of fun! Haliey will be past that stage before you know it!

I tell my grandson this all the time! They have a little girl who will be 3 on the 15th of Aug. A little boy who is 13 months old and a new baby who is 2 months old and it gets to be really something around there house at times!!!

If one starts crying they all end of up crying! But Jey and Sofia are young and they cope so GOOD ! I couldn’t do this any more!! Love and hugs, Grams

It will soon pass…and even though it caused a little stress…way to go not giving in.
    Julia loved carousels too.

Yeah, I have an ‘almost 6′ year old. It doesn’t get much better, but they are more quiet but more persisent about their requests. It does sound like fun though. My kids loved the carosel at the zoo this weekend too. Little guy’s first time

Oh yes, we’ve had similar meltdowns as well. But it sounds like a wonderful time otherwise! :)

As being someone who INTENSELY dislikes condiments, I almost always check my fast food before driving away. I cannot, and will not, scrape mayo, ketchup, or mustard off of my burger. I will still taste it and will still hate it.

Can you tell I’ve had this happen a few too many times?

I hate that. That happened to me a week ago and then yesterday. It pissed me off so much but I figured-well let it not spoil my day as I cursed the burger GODS. I love the picture of you guys.
