Just For Fun

December 14th, 2008 Melanie Posted in Hailey, The Things She Says 18 Comments »

Here are a few of the fun things that Hailey has said or done recently:

I was standing in the kitchen the other day and Hailey walked up behind me and pulled my pants part of the way down (I was wearing sweat pants) and said, “Do you need a little Desitin?”

**********

Hailey said, “I need to find my Bugs Rabbit” while looking for her stuffed Bugs Bunny.

**********

I was trying to get Hailey to hold my hand and she didn’t want to.  So I pretended to cry.  Hailey said, “You pouting, Mommy?”

**********

Hailey had a dog treat in her hand that she was supposed to be giving to Dottie.  Instead she decided to taste it for herself.  I asked her, “Did you just taste Dottie’s treat?”  She replied, “No.”  I said, “Are you lying to me?”  And she said, “Yes, my is.  My so sorry.”

**********

I have a Christmas decoration on our piano that Hailey knows she is not supposed to touch.  I guess the temptation to touch it is just too much because she told me, “You need to move this so I can’t reach it.”

Hailey pronounces our last name- “ho-sav-ick” and when she says thank you it sounds like “gank you”

Cute Things Hailey Said This Week

October 31st, 2008 Melanie Posted in Hailey, The Things She Says 8 Comments »

One of the fun things about the age that Hailey is now is the funny and cute things that come out of her mouth.  Here are some of my favorites from this week:

After I had finished doing my hair Hailey said, “Mommy’s hair looks pretty. It looks like fireworks.”  I’m not sure sure that’s a compliment.

Just a random statement that Hailey said, “Mommy knows everything. She is smart.”  Let’s see what she thinks in about 10 years.

We were learning the letter E last week and I told Hailey that Ellie (her aunt) starts with E. Hailey said, “Ellie starts with E? Wow, that’s amazin.”

On Sunday when I told Hailey it was time to get ready for church she said, “I have to finish my business first.”  The business she was finishing ended up being a nice little surprise in her pull-up.

I noticed that Hailey had some food on her nose that wouldn’t wipe off, so I licked my finger and cleaned it off.  Hailey said,  “Don’t eat me nose Mommy.  That’s gucky.” (gucky=yucky)

What Did She Just Say?

September 25th, 2008 Melanie Posted in Hailey, The Things She Says 18 Comments »

We have a desktop computer in our family room.  Sometimes when we are hanging out in the family room I will turn the computer on, open a Word document and let Hailey type.  So, the other evening that is what was going on when I heard Hailey say, “Where’s baby Anika’s blog?”

“What?”  I asked.  I was pretty sure I had heard what she said but it still took me by surprise.  (by the way- Anika is 10 month old daughter to my cousin Beka.  Everyday Hailey and I look at Beka’s blog to see if there are any new pictures of Anika.)

“My can’t find baby Anika’s blog,” Hailey responded.

I went over to help Hailey- I started up the Internet and since the desktop is several years old it takes more than a split second for the Internet to start.  So, as it was starting up Hailey asked me, “It’s loading?”

So Hailey isn’t even 2 yet and she knows about blogs and pages loading.  I can’t even imagine what another 10 years will bring.

Just Because I Want To Remember

September 15th, 2008 Melanie Posted in Hailey, The Things She Says No Comments »

There isn’t really any rhyme or reason to this post, it’s just some random stuff that Hailey does or says that I want to remember.

Hailey has a few big words that she says:

  • “Mommy, I NEED a cal-ca-later”  (calculator)
  • “See the albatross” as she points to an albatross in her Wild Animals magazine
  • “No, no.  It’s dan-gous.  My need to be safe.”  (dangerous)
  • “Oh mommy.  It’s dec-o-ations.  It’s nice.  Dec-o-ations are reeeeeally pretty”  (decorations)

Hailey loves books by David Shannon and her favorite book is “No, David.”  If you haven’t seen this book you have to check it out- I have never met a child who didn’t love this book.  On one of the pages in the book David has escaped from his mother and is running down the road with no clothes on.  You can see his bare little bottom as he runs away from her.  Of course, Hailey thinks this is just hilarious.  One day while Rich was reading this to her, he told her that David was “butt-naked.”  So, now of course- this is Hailey’s favorite new phrase.

  • When I try to get Hailey dressed for the day she says, “No clothes!  My NEED butt-naked!”
  • Every time I change her diaper she runs from me through the house saying, “No clothes!  My NEED butt-naked.”
  • And of course, the other night while Rich and Hailey were outside playing- Hailey shared her new phrase with our next door neighbor.

Hailey is one of the pickiest eaters I have ever met.  Almost every night at dinner she says, “My can’t like it.”

And my two favorite things that Hailey says:

  • “Mommy is pretty.”
  • “I love you too Mommy.”
