I have been in a blog funk lately.  I just don’t want to post.  And I don’t think I have anything to post about. 

We are still waiting to close on our new house.  Still waiting.  No longer patiently.  Thankfully we are staying at my parents house until we can close.  We’ve been here for over 5 weeks now (instead of 1-2 weeks) and we are sooooo thankful for everything my parents have done for us.

Other than that- there’s not much to post about.  So, here are some random pictures of Hailey. 

Last weekend Rich and I went out to dinner and a movie (we saw Up- which was excellent!) and my parents watched Hailey.  She had a blast playing with her bubbles.  And of course, she had a blast playing with her Gramma and Pa!

Today Hailey enjoyed sharing the bubble fun with Dottie.  I’m not so sure Dottie enjoyed it as much as Hailey did.

Last weekend some friends of ours got married, so of course- we went to the wedding.  And of course, I took some pictures.  Here are some pictures from the reception.

While we waited for the bride and groom to arrive at the reception my dad, my brother and Rich made themselves comfortable.  They sat like this right outside the door of the room the reception was in so everyone saw them on their way in.  It was probably not the greeting that most were expecting to find.

While they were busy relaxing and talking I was trying to keep track of Hailey.  She found some new friends and was being really good.  She took one little girl by the hand and led her around as if to show her new friend where everything was.  It was cute.  Then I saw them heading for the cake.  I was on my way to get Hailey before she got too close and the other girl’s father was on his way to get her.  I was not in time.

See that little whole in the cake?  Hailey stuck her finger right in the cake.  It could have been much worse, so I am thankful that is all she did.  Now, if you know Rich- you know that at every event we go to that involves a cake of any kind, he leaves a little finger print.  So, clearly Hailey inherited this from Rich.

The bride and groom arrived- so it was time to get the party started.

Hailey thought it was funny and tried to get the creamer off of Rich’s eyes.  In a few years she will probably be very embarrassed by such nonsense.

Then the dancing started and Hailey was on the dance floor for the rest of the reception.  She absolutely loved it.  She wouldn’t even stop dancing for her cake.  (And she loves cake.)  We didn’t even try to leave until the last song had been played.  I prefer to stay on the sidelines, talk to people I haven’t seen in a while and do lots of people watching at weddings.  That is fun for me.  Apparently Hailey likes to be right in the middle of it all.  She danced with anyone who would dance with her.

And she even had her first dance with a boy.  Rich didn’t think it was as cute as I did

These pictures are from about 3 weeks ago, but I haven’t gotten around to posting them.  The day before we moved my parents came up and we all spent the day at a children’s museum that was nearby our house.  It was lots of fun!!  So of course, I have a bunch of pictures to share.

After lunch we decided to go drive around for a few minutes to see if Hailey would take a quick nap.  Hailey and Pa fell asleep almost immediately.  After their nap we returned to the museum.

We had dinner and then we were on our way home.  It was a fun filled day!  The next day we moved out of our house… and if I ever get around to it, I have pictures to post from that too.

Here are a couple of things that happened in the last couple of weeks for the first time in Hailey’s life.

Hailey has only ever had a couple of minor falls and bumps… I’m sure that is partially due to me being overprotective.  A couple of weeks ago she was playing outside and fell and scraped her nose on our patio.  Since this is the first time she has had a scrape like this I had to blog about it.

Shortly after the injury- tears still in her eyes and band-aid on her nose.

The next day- my poor Little Miss!  It’s been a couple of weeks and it looks much better but is still healing.

Another first happened the other day at the grocery store.  We didn’t have very many things to get so I let Hailey walk instead of riding in the cart.  If she can help to get things and put them in the cart she is usually pretty cooperative.  She started out doing pretty good and then didn’t get her way about something.  We were heading to the milk/cheese department to finish up our shopping.  Hailey was trying to get away from me and ran right for the eggs and picked up a dozen eggs and looked at me.  Now she didn’t realize how breakable they were- she was just being difficult.  I said, “Hailey- NO!  Give those to Mommy!”  So she threw them on the floor.  And I guess you know what happened.  Hailey had to apologize to the man who cleaned it up and she was very nervous about talking to him so I hope that she learned her lesson.

And as a side note, we are all settled into my parents house for a couple of weeks until our new house is ready to close.
