Disney Vacation Pictures- Day 3

October 27th, 2010 Melanie Posted in Disney World, Family, Hailey, Me, Rich, Vacation 2 Comments »

Since we got back so late from Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party on day 2 we slept in a little bit on our 3rd day. After a slow start we had breakfast at our resort.

Hailey playing with her fan instead of eating a very healthy chocolate muffin.

The food court at Pop Century.

It was still relatively early when we arrived at Hollywood Studios, so it wasn’t too crowded.

First up- we went to see Voyage of the Little Mermaid.

When we came out of the Little Mermaid show we were able to meet up with some characters:

Hailey and Annie

Leo, Hailey and Annie

Then we went to see Playhouse Disney- Live on Stage- which Hailey obviously loved!  My only complaint is that we were in the front row and it was really hard to see.  Last year we were in the very back and it was really hard to see back there too.  I think the seating should be set up a little bit differently, but she still loved the show.

After the show we went to see the Disney Animation Studio.  We had never been in there before and the characters were lots of fun!

Hailey and Lotso

Hailey with Mr. and Mrs. Incredible

When we went back outside Hailey was able to meet Quincy and June.

Then we had a delicious lunch at Catalina Eddie’s.  Rich wasn’t too sure about eating here because it was outside but I thought the food was fantastic!

After lunch we went to see Beauty and the Beast.  Hailey really enjoyed it!

We had gotten Fast Passes to go on Toy Story Mania when we arrived first thing in the morning, but they couldn’t be used until 6:05pm.  So Rich wanted to check and see how long the wait would be so we wouldn’t have to stay at Hollywood Studios until 6pm.  We like going to Hollywood Studios but it is our least favorite park and we are usually done by mid-afternoon so we were almost ready to leave but still had about 4 hours until we could use our fast passes.  So we headed back to that area of the park.  The wait was still really long though so we decided to hang out until we could use our fast passes.

Hailey met up with a Green Army Man.

And she got to see Handy Manny.

After that we rode on the Great Movie Ride.  Then we walked around with Hailey in her stroller until she fell asleep.  She took a nice long nap while Rich and I sat in the Animation Studios and did some people watching.  After her nap we went to Muppet Vision- 3D.  It was so much fun!  Hailey never really got into the 3D things last year because she wouldn’t leave her glasses on.  This time she loved it!  She was reaching out trying to grab everything and even asked me, “When can I really touch them?”

Finally it was almost time use our fast passes, so we decided to hang out until 6:05.

At 6pm everyone in line started leaving the ride- the ride had broken!  They told people to come back in about an hour.  There was no way we wanted to wait around for another hour.  We went to guest relations and gave them our names and they told us to come back the next day and they would give us a new fast pass to use.

We headed off to Magic Kingdom for Extra Magic Hours.

Hailey loved riding on Dumbo!

We ate some dinner at Pinocchio Village Haus and enjoyed the fireworks.

Of course she had to make an attempt at getting the sword out of the stone.

We also went on Snow White’s Scary adventure and saw Mickey’s PhilharMagic 3D show.  Hailey was reaching for everything and enjoyed the show so much!

The crowds were nice and low and we were able to get a lot done during extra magic hours!  We were tired though and knew we had an early start coming on day 4, so we went back to our resort.

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

October 26th, 2010 Melanie Posted in Disney World, Family, Hailey, Me, Rich, Vacation No Comments »

After our busy morning at Animal Kingdom and a nice afternoon nap back at the hotel we got ready to go to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.

Hailey decided to dress up as Snow White for the Halloween party.

We got there just in time to see the Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It! Street Party.

Then we went to Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe for a yummy dinner.  Hailey enjoyed playing horseshoes while we waited for our food.

After a yummy dinner Hailey was begging to go on Splash Mountain.

Last year when we were in Disney World Hailey was about 39 inches tall- one inch too short for Splash Mountain.  So for the last year she has talked about how she would be tall enough to go on Splash Mountain on our next trip.

Sure enough- she was tall enough!

She ran off to get on the ride.  There was no line at all- we walked right on- one of the advantages of going to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.

Hailey didn’t want to exit- she was ready to ride!

On the boat and off we went.  She loved the ride.  She was a little worried about the drops but she said she loved it!

After we rode Splash Mountain we collected lots of candy and then went to Woody’s Happy Harvest Roundup dance party.

Hailey danced with Woody,

Bullseye,

and Jessie.

Then we went to see the Villains Mix and Mingle.  It was a really fun show with all of the villains.  For some reason Hailey always loves the bad guys so she loved this show.  After the show the villains came down off the stage to meet people.  Everyone was trying to push to meet the villains and it didn’t seem worth the wait to us.

Hailey got to get her picture with The Queen of Hearts.  Then we went to see the Haunted Mansion, which also had no line.

Hailey was so excited to get to meet the 7 dwarfs!  Doc took her by the hand and walked her over to the rest of the group.

Snow White with the 7 Dwarfs.  (Grumpy was mad that she didn’t stand next to him!)

All of us with the dwarfs- this time Hailey gave Grumpy a hug.

Hailey was so excited to get to meet the Stepmother and the Stepsisters.  They were a pretty funny group to meet.  Hailey told Anastasia that she is her favorite stepsister which resulted in some funny arguing between the 2 sisters.

Happy HalloWishes was an amazing fireworks show!  We loved it!!

I had a yummy Pineapple Dole Whip- amazing!!

Hailey told Jasmine all about riding on Splash Mountain.  Jasmine talked to Hailey for several minutes and told her a funny story about Abu riding on Splash Mountain and how he didn’t like it.

We got a great spot for Mickey’s Boo to You Halloween Parade.  The Headless horseman came through about 10 minutes before the parade actually started.  Unfortunately my picture didn’t turn out very good.

The official start of the parade.

Clarabelle Cow

Goofy and his candy machine.

After the parade we went on some more rides- including Peter Pan, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin and Stitch.  All of the rides had no wait times, which was wonderful!  Hailey didn’t like the Stitch ride- we were afraid she might be scared of it.  But actually she thought it was boring.  As we were getting off she said, “When are we going to do the fun part of Stitch?”

We collected lots more candy and as the party was winding down around midnight we headed back to our hotel.

A few Halloween decorations on our way out of the park.

We didn’t get back to the hotel until after 1am.  Hailey had fallen sound asleep on the bus and I was able to get her all ready for bed without her waking up.  She was exhausted!!  Before she fell asleep on the bus though I asked her what her favorite parts of the day were.  Her favorite character was Stitch (at Animal Kingdom earlier in the day) and her favorite ride was Splash Mountain.

Disney Vacation Pictures- Day 2

October 25th, 2010 Melanie Posted in Disney World, Family, Hailey, Me, Rich, Vacation 3 Comments »

Day 2 was Rich’s birthday and we started bright and early.  We had a breakfast reservation at 8:10 at Tusker House in Animal Kingdom so we had to get up nice and early in order to leave in time to get there.  After a fun wake up call from the characters we got ready and we were off to Animal Kingdom.

We were some of the first ones waiting for the bus to Animal Kingdom at our hotel.

Posing for a picture with Donald Duck at the Tusker House.

Rich was thrilled to be celebrating his birthday and enjoyed his birthday cupcake.

The first character to stop by our table was Mickey Mouse.  Hailey was so excited to see him.

Hailey and Goofy

The buffet area at Tusker House, one of my favorite places to eat.

After breakfast we went right to the Safari ride.  We were there early in the morning before it got too hot and we got to see lots of animals.

Next up we took the train out to Rafiki’s Planet.  Hailey got to meet Rafiki,

Pocahontas,

and Jiminy Cricket.

Hailey also enjoyed the petting zoo.

I found a “Hidden Mickey.”  Do you see it?

On our way to the Lion King show we got to meet Lilo and Stitch.  This was one of the best character interactions we had during the entire trip.  They were so funny and had everyone in line laughing at the things Stitch was doing.

Hailey with Lilo and Stitch.

We went and saw the Lion King show next which is definitely my favorite show.  I love to see it every time we go and it never gets old.  After the Lion King we went back to our hotel to take a nice long nap because we were planning to go to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party that night and knew we’d need our rest!

Disney Vacation Pictures- Day 1

October 3rd, 2010 Melanie Posted in Disney World, Family, Hailey, Me, Rich, Vacation 2 Comments »

On Thursday evening we loaded up our car to drive to the airport.  We had found a nice cheap flight for our trip ($152 per person, round trip) but we had to drive to an airport 3 hours away.  Our flight was leaving at 5:50am on Friday, so we thought we would drive up on Thursday night.

We left around 10pm and Hailey went right to sleep.  We stopped when we were about 40 minutes from the airport so that Rich and I could sleep a little too.  But then Hailey woke up around 1:30am and was wide awake and would not stop talking.  Eventually we figured we would just go the rest of the way to the airport.

We hung out in an empty airport until the we could go through security.  Hailey kept herself occupied with her MobiGo but had no interest in going back to sleep.

Finally on the airplane!!  Hailey slept some on our first flight.  She woke up before we landed and when she looked out the window during landing it made her sick.  Thankfully I was ready with the barf bag.  During our second flight she was sound asleep the whole time and didn’t get sick at all!

Posing in the Orlando airport.

Waiting at the longest red light ever in front of our resort while we were on the Magical Express.

Finally there!!

When we got to our room these 2 lovely bird type things were hanging around outside our building.

After some lunch and a nice nap for Hailey and Rich (while I organized the room) we headed off to Magic Kingdom.

When we walked in Pluto was there signing autographs.

Then we had to stop and see Chip and Dale

Posing with Chip and Dale.  Dale is pulling on one of Hailey’s braids.

Us in front of the castle.  I have no idea why Hailey’s face looks like that- she really was excited to be there!!  See the crane in the background behind the castle?  Apparently they are already putting up lights for Christmas time.

We got there just in time to see the Dream-Along with Mickey show.

Some more of the show.

Then it was time for the Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It! Street Party.

Hailey got the dance with Chip.

Then we went on our first ride of the trip- The Magic Carpets of Aladdin.

Hailey was begging to go on Splash Mountain, since she spent the last year hoping she’d be tall enough to go on it.  But we had a dinner reservation to get to so we decided to wait.

Hailey waiting for the train.

Then we were off to ‘Ohana for dinner.  Since ‘Ohana means family they treat you like family there and everyone is cousins.  It’s so much fun!  When Rich and I ate there for our anniversary we loved it, so we just had to go again.  The food didn’t seem as good this time, but it was still pretty yummy.

Hailey had fun in the parade.

And the coconut race was cute.

On our way out of ‘Ohana.

After dinner we went over to Epcot to enjoy the Extra Magic Hours.  It was a little after 9pm when we got there.

Hailey wanted to go on one of the big rides and the wait time for Test Track wasn’t too bad, so we decided to give it a try.

Finally tall enough!!  Last year she was just a little under 40 inches and couldn’t go on some of the rides.  This year she was definitely tall enough!

Waiting in line for Test Track!

Sitting in the car waiting to go, looking a little nervous.

And she did NOT like the ride.  When it was over she said, “I didn’t like it Daddy, can we go on Nemo?”  She said it was too fast and she was scared.

We were pretty exhausted by this time- so we decided to end the night with Hailey’s favorite ride- Nemo

Hailey loves posing inside Bruce’s mouth.

Then we went back to our hotel and slept very soundly for the night!

Favorite of the day- Hailey picked The Seas With Nemo and Friends as her favorite ride.
