Ooooohhhh, This Was Fun

March 1st, 2008 Melanie Posted in Brooke | No Comments »

Regina tagged me to play along with this fun little game.  Since my Meme Monday is going to be full I decided I wanted to post this today.

These are the rules:

It’s really easy to do, just go to MagMyPic plug in a pic of yourself and choose a magazine cover you want grace.
Then: 1)Link back to the person who tagged you. 2)Tag as little or as many friends as you like, just make sure and tag somebody! Have Fun!!

And since I like to break rules, I am posting a picture of Brooke instead of a picture of me.

You know what? That was so much fun that I’m going to do it again later.  I’ll have to do another one with Hailey’s picture.  And, if you are all very well behaved I might do one with my picture.  (Since there have been recent comments that I never post pictures of myself.)

And now for the tagging part- if you want to play along go right ahead.  Just let me know if you do so I can check out your picture on a magazine cover.

More Than You Ever Wanted To Know

February 29th, 2008 Melanie Posted in Me | 12 Comments »

Remember last week during Meme Monday when I said that no one had tagged me the week before?  Well, apparently you all took that as invitation to tag me like crazy.  Because since then I have been tagged about 428 times.  Or maybe just six times.  But still, that’s a lot.

So, rather than overwhelm everyone on Monday with way too many memes, I decided to post one today.  Besides, I didn’t have anything else to post.

I was tagged by Mama Meji for this meme meant to help us to get to know our bloggy friends better.  And if you actually read all of this, you will know more about me than you ever wanted to know!  So, here we go:

Copy this entire list of questions and change all the answers so that they apply to you.
Then tag and pass it along to other blogging friends. Let’s see how well we can get to know one another!

15. Favorite Day of the year? Probably Thanksgiving- what’s better than family and food?
16. What do you do to vent anger? Possibly cry or maybe eat
17. What was your favorite toy as a child? Since I always wanted to be a teacher- probably my chalkboard that I used to teach my dolls and brothers and friends and pretty much anyone I could get to listen to me.
18. What is your favorite, fall or spring? Fall
19. Hugs or kisses? Hugs and also kisses
20. What kind of pie? Strawberry rhubarb made by my mom (hint, hint)

38. How many provinces have you lived in? None.
39. How many countries have you been to? 4, including the one I live in.

I have no idea why the questions stopped at 39.  Why couldn’t it have been a nice round 40?  Anyhoo- ignore me and my even number obsession.  If you’re still awake and you’d like to play along- let me know so that I can read yours.

Have a great weekend.

Thankful Thursday #14

February 28th, 2008 Melanie Posted in Thankful Thursday | 26 Comments »

Last week we were able to visit my parents (check out pictures of Hailey’s first toboggan ride if you missed that post) and we had a wonderful time.  I am thankful we were able to visit.

While we were there, one evening my parents told Rich and I that we should go out on a date and they would watch Hailey for us.  Since we don’t live near our families and I am just a little bit overprotective of Hailey we never leave her with anyone so we can go out.  So, the last time Rich and I went out without Hailey was in July for our anniversary when my parents made a trip all the way to our house to watch her for us.

So, after strict instructions that I did not want Hailey falling down the stairs or choking or getting hurt in any way, Rich and I went out on our date.  We had a really nice dinner at the Olive Garden.  After dinner we went to see The Bucket List, which in my opinion was excellent.  I thought the movie was so good that I forgot all about eating the candy we had bought at Wal-Mart and then hid in my purse to sneak in with us (and don’t try to pretend you don’t sneak food in with you).  If you happen to go see The Bucket List, my only recommendation is to bring some tissues with you.  It’s probably not exactly attractive to have to wipe your running nose on your sleeve.  I’m just sayin’.

Anyhoo- I am so thankful for the nice date that Rich and I had.  It was so nice to be able to spend some time with just Rich; I had such a great time with him.  Thank you Mom and Dad!
