Don’t Ever Let Me Say That Again

Remember my Thankful Thursday post, specifically number four on my list?  In case you don’t remember, this is what is said:

“4.  Now, let’s all pretend that I am not saying what I am about to say because as you mommies know I am surely jinxing myself.  I am thankful that Hailey has been sleeping better at night.  No- she still does not sleep all night and no- she does not stay in her own bed all night.  But, whereas before she was sleeping about 1-2 hours in her own bed before waking up and wanting to come into bed with us she has been staying in her own bed for 3-4 hours.  I am thankful for what I can get!  Now, do not ever mention this again, we do not want Hailey to realize that I have noticed this.”

Well, if I ever write something like that again, could someone please email me at once and say, “Take that post down right away you silly lady.”  Because let me tell you what has been happening ever since I posted that.

On Wednesday night Hailey went to bed around 9pm, which is her usual time.  I put my post up on Wednesday night so that it would be all ready for Thursday morning.  Well, on Wednesday night Hailey woke up at 11pm.

But, it gets better.  On Thursday night Hailey went to bed around 9pm again.  She was awake at 10:30pm.  And, not only that but she was wide awake from 3am-4am.  Now last night she went to bed once again at 9pm.  She was awake at 9:40pm.  And, then again from 4:45am-6am.

Now I waited until Hailey had been doing her 3-4 hour stretches of sleep for two solid weeks before I mentioned it.  I thought I was safe, but apparently not.  I haven’t changed anything in her routine- she has even been having the exact same snack of crackers and cheese every night.  The only thing that I did was write about it on my blog.

So, either Hailey has been reading my blog or one of you told her.

I didn’t tell her! I promise! Yeah, I know what you mean about jinxing it. I am not talking about Ladybug’s sleeping habits for just that reason! I hate it when people ask how she is sleeping.

It wasn’t me, I swear! Sorry you are having such a rough time. Believe me I can sympathize. I went through it with all 3 of mine. Thank God they are older now, I can finally get some sleep!

  3. Oh dear – I am so sorry to read that Hailey is not sleeping so well again at night. It will get better, Melanie.

Blessings on your weekend and always.

That is just TOO funny – how do they always know?! Even when you don’t actually say it out loud. The same thing happens here too…I’m not even going to tell you how good bad Tate is sleeping right now! ;)

Ok, ok, I admit it. It was me…. Sorry. I’m just a sucker for little children.

HaHa! You know as soon as you wrote that what would happen next! You have no one to blame but yourself!
Somethings should NEVER, EVER be spoken of…

  9. Okay– you KNOW I didn’t tell her…but could you ask her to PLEASE stop telling Riley that it is fun to be awake at those hours?

Sorry it hasn’t been going well. They have to sleep at some point, right??

Oh now that’s just Murphy’s Law at its’ prime! Maybe if you write a post that she is sleepin like crap (this one), it will reverse itself! :)

Hoping you all get some sleep SOON!

Sorry about that. I hope H will be sleeping well soon. I must agree with MamaGeek. :-) Oh I get it, you’re writing about it now so it will revert itself. Hehe.

  12. Their sleeping habits change every so often but things will get normal, don’t worry ;)

    Ooops!
Yeah I usually tried to keep new things like that quiet for awhile after I learned my lessons with Izzak. It’ll get better someday, I promise.
