15 Months

Well, I certainly can not believe it, but it is time for another monthly update. Since Hailey turned four months old I have done a monthly picture of her next to Tigger to have a reference as to how quickly she is growing. Once she turned one I decided to do it every three months. So, now at 15 months it is time for a picture with Tigger.

Livin’ With Me

Hailey is 15 months old! You can see Hailey with Tigger at 12 months, 11 months, 10 months, 9 months, 8 months, 7 months, 6 months, 5 months, 4 months and 3 months (Just click on the one you want to see).

For this months update I decided to share some pictures with you. And so…..

Hailey at 15 Months

Hailey working on a puzzle- trying to figure out why that piece is not going into it’s spot. She loves to make this scowling face any time things do not go exactly as she expects them to.

Hailey loves playing with her new kitchen she got for Christmas. Here she works on washing the dishes.

And lastly- a sweet little smile from my sweet little lady.

Hailey says all sorts of words, although most of the time we’re not exactly sure what it is she is saying. She knows too many signs to try to keep listing them each month and she is really picking up on the animal sounds. Pretty much anything we tell her to try to say or sign or a noise to try to make- she’ll try to do it.

I’m not sure exactly when it happened, but at some point during the last couple of months, Hailey suddenly seemed so much older. I’ve known for a while that she is not an infant anymore- but it was like it suddenly really hit me that she’s no longer a baby. She just seems so grown up- she looks and acts so much older. Time is just flying by and I can’t believe it’s already been 15 months since my little Hailey was born.

And so as I close I’m going to post a poem that my Grammy shared with my mom when I was a baby. My mom shared it with me when Hailey was born and I’ve posted it a few times on my other blog. I actually posted it there today again- but since most of you come here for my updates- I want to post it here too.

Cleaning and cooking can wait ’til tomorrow
for babies grow up as we’ve learned to our sorrow.
So, quiet down cobwebs and dust go to sleep,
for I’m rocking my baby and babies don’t keep.

Hi Melanie. I’m never sure if I’ll laugh or cry when I read your writings. Maybe that is because your mom and I have said most of these same words in times gone by. Once you have actually lived those feelings, you can truly feel them. You were our babies and we watched and felt the weeks and months and years slip by and we wondered where has the time gone. We tried so hard to slow it down! Hailey has a great mommy and I am so proud of you. Your thoughts, feelings, love and humor is there for the world to enjoy. Thanks!

Awww…what a cutie! Tate would just have a BALL playing with her in her kitchen I’m sure! :) Too bad we don’t live closer together…oh well. :)

She is absolutely beautiful. Tigger was always so much bigger in the pictures and this time – definitely smaller.
I know she is still keeping you awake at night- but someday you will look back and treasure those nights. It really is true that the days are long but the years are short.

I just want to smother her cute little face with kisses! Man, she’s just adorable!!

And the time flying…yup. It’s crazy, hey? Tonight while I was hugging & kissing Joelle to sleep and she was talking about playing a game with her Grandma, I realized that I don’t play enough games with her. I wondered why (and how!) the grandparents have the energy to spend so much more one-on-one time with my kids than I seem to.

And then it hit me…they probably didn’t as much with their own children, and then it was too late. Now they’re trying to make up for what they lost…maybe. It’s something to think about anyway.

I promised Joelle I would play a game with her on Wednesday (if you’re wondering why not tomorrow, it’s ’cause I’m working all day.

    Anyway, now I’m rambling…

We do a picture with a stuffed lamb. It’s so cute to compare the picutres from the hospital with the current one!

I love the poem at the end. I would much rather be cuddling my daughter than doing housework!

I remember when I first found you and saw a picture of her in her car seat I believe–so small.
I was just thinking how big she looked sitting beside Tigger.

Can you imagine if they stayed small forever though? By the fifth generation we’d end up with tiny humans.
