I Accidentally…

Hailey said to me, “I accidentally got soap in my mouth while I was washing my hands.”  I asked her, “How do you accidentally get soap in your mouth?”  She responded, “I don’t know, I wasn’t looking when it happened.”

The other day Hailey came in Hunter’s room while I was rocking him and said, “I was crawling down the hall with my tongue out and I don’t know how it happened but I accidentally licked the wall.”  The she put both hands over her mouth like she just couldn’t believe that it had happened.

The other day when Hailey got off the bus, the kids who live nearby asked if they could come over and play. With their dad standing right there Hailey replied:

“NO, MY MOM SAYS YOU’RE TOO WILD!!”

Hailey came home from school and told me that she had a substitute for the day.  She said the substitute was old and had curly skin.

A Sign of Things to Come?

If you know Hailey then you know that she is usually up for a good argument.

She gets this from Rich as he will actually pretend to disagree with people just for the sake of an argument.  Me, on the other hand- I will pretend to agree with people just to avoid an argument!

So anyways, lately Hailey has been especially argumentative and has been arguing with almost everything I say to her.  I was talking to her about it the other day and I told her it needed to stop.  I told her if she disagreed with what I said and wanted to argue with me that she should just not say anything. She responded by saying, “But mom, then how will I ever be able to say anything?”

The teenage years with her should be fun.

More Things that Made Me Smile

Hailey was upset with me over something I wouldn’t let her do and she told me she didn’t want me to live at our house anymore.  But then she added, “Before you go, leave some instructions for Daddy.”

Hailey pointed to my forehead and said excitedly, “MOM!  Your pimples look like a ‘Hidden Mickey.’”

As Hailey left for school one morning she gave me a big hug and said, “Don’t you worry big mama, that baby will be here soon.”
