My Poor Little Miss
Hailey is so sick. I just had to post to ask you to pray that she will be feeling better soon.
It started last Wednesday with a little runny nose. As soon as I saw the runny nose I knew more would be coming- she never just gets a runny nose. By Thursday night she was coughing. Then during the night Friday into Saturday she started throwing up. (Both of us actually- caught the stomach bug at the same time and were both sick all night.) Sunday she spent most of the day sleeping- and if you know Hailey you know she doesn’t usually stop for long. Her cough continued.
On Monday she was still throwing up on and off- not like she was at first but a little bit. Then she started having diarrhea too. Monday night she seemed really cool after her bath- her lips looked a little blue and her temperature was low. I talked to a nurse from her pediatrician’s office who told me to bring her in first thing on Tuesday morning. We were able to get Hailey warmed up- her temperature stayed low but her lips looked normal again.
Tuesday morning we went to the doctor. The doctor was not actually concerned about her temperature being low (the main reason I brought her in)… she said that some people react that way- when they are throwing up and having diarrhea and not getting a lot of fluids, some people have a hard time warming up. But the doctor was worried about her cough. She thought it sounded wheezy even though I had been giving her the breathing treatments with the nebulizer. The doctor gave Hailey another breathing treatment and was not satisfied with her breathing. So, she sent us for a chest x-ray which determined that my poor Little Miss has pneumonia. The good news is that there was only a little bit of pneumonia in the top of one lung. So I’m hoping she will recover quickly.
Hailey is taking an antibiotic for the pneumonia and an oral steroid to try to control the coughing and of course having her nebulizer treatments every 4 hours. It’s a lot of stuff to put into her little body and I hate it. That and having her be so sick is just so scary. I’m hoping she’ll be feeling better in a couple of days and I’ll have my busy, bouncing, never stopping Hailey back.
Please pray for Hailey that she will be all better soon.

You are both in my prayers! I know how stressed parents get when the babies are sick.

Your blog feed hasn’t been updating in my google reader. I was actually wondering where you’ve been! Then today, up popped 7 “new” posts!
We’ve been out of town, so I’m just now getting caught up on everything. Well, “caught up” is relative, isn’t it?!?
Hope Hailey is on the mend!
I hope Hailey is doing better. I was horrified when I read the post, I know it’s 1 days since you posted it but hope all is well.
