It’s Another Meme

I have vowed that I will be better about keeping up with my tags and awards, so that is what my post today will be about.  First, I was tagged by KC to do 7 weird things about myself.

Here are the rules:

The rules are for me to link to the person who tagged me, list 7 weird things about myself and then tag 7 others to play along. And also, most importantly, let them know they have been tagged.

Now, I’m kind of cheating on this one.  I’ve done random things about myself several times.  But I have a lot of new readers since I’ve done some of those.  So, I’m looking through my random things posts and picking out some of the weirdest things about myself to share with you.  But, I’m also adding a few new ones for those of my readers who have been with me since the beginning.  Here goes:

1. When I eat I like to make sure that each different food on my plate does not touch any of the other foods on my plate. Then I only eat one food at a time before I move on to eat a different food.  I didn’t actually know this was weird, I just assumed that all people ate like this- but apparently this is a little odd.
2. I don’t like to watch TV.  I get bored and feel like I should be doing something else rather than just sitting there watching.
3. I love to eat brown sugar. Usually I add lots of it to my oatmeal (the oatmeal that comes with brown sugar already in it). But I’ve also been known to eat just plain brown sugar. Yes- all by itself.
4. I don’t like soda.
5. I actually kind of like dusting.
6. I used to write down what outfit I wore everyday.  I don’t do it anymore now that I’m a stay at home mommy because most days I’m home.  But, I would keep track of what I wore so that I didn’t wear the same things too often.
7. I have an obsession with even numbers. When I listen to the radio or watch TV, the volume has to be set on an even number. When I eat something like grapes or M&M’s I have to eat either 2 or 4 at a time. Not that I am eating M&M’s with my diet and all. But, if I were eating M&M’s and there was only one left- I would not eat it.  And also- it really bothers me that I have to end this post on an odd number.

And now if you want to play along, please do so and then let me know that you did so that I can check out your post.

Hi, just came in by way of a few of my Blogging friends…Kat, Terri…are you related to Adrian Monk??? I see you have a couple of his, shall we say, phobias? I love brown sugar on my oatmeal, too especially since I found the splenda blend…congratulations on the You Lift me Up Award…I’m partial to it, since it was my creation and a tad miffed that someone changed the picture from the Moonflower that is the original…I’m sending you the original, okay?

Congrats to you! There is so much love being spread around the blogging world it’s crazy! I have to go by and check out Shaunda’s blog sometime this week.

  3. This was fun to read- I remembered most of those as I read them (not that I sit around thinking, oh yeah, Melanie likes brown sugar and even numbers, but it came back to me as I read it). But it is still so much fun to find out things about my bloggy buds! Especially one as fabulous as you (and one I care about as much as you!) Thanks for the kind words about me! That really makes my day!

I hope all is well- I see you are worried and my sleepy mommy brain can’t remember when Hailey’s next appointment is/was….I hope all is well with everything!

  4. Well that was interesting!! You like to eat Brown Sugar!! It fun reading these!! Congrats: on the awards!! You are keeping up really good!! Love, Grams

  5. I love divided plates because I don’t like my food touching, either. I don’t eat just one food at a time but I don’t think that is weird that you do. It is just your taste preference. I love the TASTE of bananas but not the texture so….I don’t eat bananas.
I put brown sugar on most everything I cook that calls for sugar. It is good in cookies, too! So, see if YOU are weird, then….so am I !! lol
    hugs, bj

I don’t like my food to touch either. And I usually eat one thing at a time too, usually starting with the thing I like least. I guess that is from all the years of having to clean my plate, when I was little. And I would have to just there until I ate everything, so I get the worst thing on my plate over with first. O.k. I am weird.

I have a friend that is the same way about her food touching – that is just a little strange – just so you know!

Congrats on you awards!! Have a good day. Kellan

I don’t like soda too. There was a time that I did -an some other drinks (wink). But now, I’ve kept my distance from soda and softdrinks.

But brown sugar, I just love. Brings childhood memories.

I used to put my clothes in a certain order so that I would not wear the same thing over again to soon. This usually just involved church clothes because I wore a chefs uniform to work.
And I’m afraid I would have to eat the last M&M. :)

I thought you were taking a blogging break because when I looked at my bookmark I saw the blog alcoholics post. Now I know it is a sticky post.

You did not come to my blog and call me weird, Ms. My Food Can’t Touch!!
By the way that is very strange and Toy is the same exact way. If she has burger & fries, she will not eat them together, first all the fries and then the burger. she’s so bad with the food touching that in restaurants she always has to get another fork for the seperate foods! We laugh hysterically, and she is always dead serious!

  15. LOL LOL..
ok so you don’t dip your cookies into pop because you don’t like it ;P
the even number thing and dusting and all of it.. too fun.
    Thanks for playing along.
