Meme Monday #3

February 10th, 2008 Melanie Posted in Meme Monday | 20 Comments »

Here we are again- another Monday and time for more memes.  Each week you can save up your memes and awards and post them on Monday.  This will help you not to fall behind.  Then come here and sign Mr. Linky so we can all go and visit the other participants.

This week I was tagged by Liza to do the meme about 6 unimportant or quirky things about me.  I actually just did this one last week, but I’m sure I can think up six more things.

1. I had braces for three years when I was younger.
2.  One time when I was about 16 and I didn’t have school my mom came home from work on her lunch break (which I did NOT expect) and found out I had a boy there.  I tried to hide him in the closet, but something about him leaving his bike out in front of our house gave away his presence.
3. I do not iron.  If something is wrinkled I put it in the dryer until the wrinkles are gone.
4. I try to avoid using public bathrooms, but if I absolutely have to use a public bathroom I try very hard not to actually touch anything.  Especially after I have washed my hands.  I use a paper towel to turn the water off and to open the door to leave the bathroom.
5. I have my spices in alphabetical order.
6. I love cereal and could probably eat it for all three meals and be perfectly happy.

And, now I’m tagging La Bellina Mammina and Makimeji

***********

I was also tagged by Heather to do the middle name meme.

(1) You must post the rules on your post before you answer the questions.
(2) You need to list one fact about yourself using each letter of your middle name. If you don’t have a middle name use your maiden name instead.
(3) When you are finished with your answers, you tag one person for each letter of your name.
I’ve actually done this one before here and I don’t really want to use my maiden name, so I decided to just use my first name.

M- Monopoly is not a game I like to play, it takes way too long.
E- I get so Excited when Rich cleans the kitchen up for me.
L- I hate folding Laundry.
A- I am Afraid of spiders.
N- I’m quite Nice ;)
I- I love Ice cream
E- I love to get Email

For this one I’m supposed to tag seven people because I have seven letters in my name.  So, I’m being lazy and tagging the first seven people on my friends blogroll.

**********

And now some awards.

I got both of these awards from Andrea and from KC:

Rhonda gave me these four awards:

Finally, I received these from Shalini:

And now I am passing all of these awards onto Common Mom, Foster Me Up, La Bellina Mammina, Lifesong, Liza, Makimeji, Mary’s Writing Nook, Military Mom, Mindless ChatterMy 4 KidsO So Mo Love, On The UpsideRamblings of a Crazy Woman, Random Thoughts, Regina’s Family Seasons, Shalini’s Random Thoughts, Shortybears Place, Sit With Me While, Talk To Grams, The Laughs Will Go On, and Through The Eyes Of Me.  So, take whatever awards you don’t have that you want and enjoy them!

Now, sign Mr. Linky so we can all come and visit your blog to see your memes and awards!

All About My Honey and Me

February 8th, 2008 Melanie Posted in Me, Rich | 19 Comments »

I saw this over on Leeann’s  blog and I thought it would be fun to play along.

What is his name?
Rich
How long have you been together?
Together for 12 1/2 years and married for 7 1/2.
How long did you date?
5 years
How old is he?
33
Who eats more?
I think we probably eat about the same amount.  This could have just a little to do with why need to lose a few 25 pounds.
Who said I love you first?
He did.
Who is taller?
He is.
Who can sing better?
While I am not great at singing I am most definitely better than Rich ;)
Who is smarter?
I think it depends on the topic
Who does the laundry?
I do
Who pays the bills?
Well, technically since Rich brings home the pay check- he pays the bills.  But, I am the one who actually…. you know…. pays them
Who sleeps on the right side?
Looking at the bed…I do.
Who mows the lawn?
He does.  I do not remember ever operating a law mower.
Who cooks dinner?
I usually do, but Rich is really great about helping out in the kitchen.
Who drives?
Most of the time Rich drives.  Sometimes when we take trips to visit our family I drive and he sits in the back with Hailey (it keeps the screaming to a minimum).  I get car sick in the back seat.
Who is more stubborn?
We can both be pretty stubborn, but I think he’s worse than me.  I’m sure if you asked Rich he would tell you that I am more stubborn than he is.
Who asked out who first?
We started out as friends so it’s hard to say.  I guess I probably asked him out first but not on a date so much as to invite him to come along with me and my friends to hang out with us.
Who proposed?
He did.
Who had more friends?
I have no idea who had more friends.
Who is more sensitive?
Most definitely me- it’s not too hard to make me cry.
Who has more siblings?
He does. He has 4 brothers and 1 sister. I have 2 brothers.
Who wears the pants?
I like to let Rich think he wears the pants, but we both know the truth- I am in charge around here ;)

Thankful Thursday #11

February 6th, 2008 Melanie Posted in Thankful Thursday | No Comments »

This week I am thankful that the neurologist finally called Hailey’s pediatrician back.  He had looked at the video we had taken of her rolling her eyes.  He said that this is something that some children do as their brains are maturing and that they out grow it.  He said it did not look at all like a seizure or anything to be worried about.  He said he didn’t even feel that we needed to do an EEG because he is so confident that it is nothing to worry about.  The neurologist who looked at the video has been working with children and specializing in seizures for many years and I trust his opinion.  I am extremely thankful for this news.  Even so, while it did make me feel better I had kind of hoped to have the EEG just to be totally sure.

We also left a video with Hailey’s ophthalmologist to look at.  He is very specialized in this area and can refer us to a neurological ophthalmologist if he thinks it’s necessary.  So, we are waiting for him to call us back with his opinion.  When we described to him what Hailey has been doing he had the exact same opinion as the neurologist- while it’s not common it is something that some children do when their brains are maturing and it is something they out grow.  If he calls us and tells us it’s nothing to worry about even after he has seen the video I’ll be fine with that as it will be two different very specialized professionals giving us the same opinion.

I am thankful that the area will live in has some highly professional doctors who are specialized in these fields.  I know many people do not have nearby access to such wonderful professionals.

If there is any new information I will certainly post about it.  Otherwise, I am hoping this worry is behind us and I can concentrate on worrying about the the trigger thumb we found out Hailey has that she will need surgery for.

Once again- I am so thankful for all of the kind comments and emails you all have been sending me- and of course- I’m especially thankful for your prayers.
