Just Some Random Stuff
Now for those of you who read Pam’s blog you’re going to be scratching your heads and saying, “Wait a minute, am I at Random Thoughts or Livin’ With Me?” Beacause this post? It’s going to be quite random. And I think random is good- that’s why Pam’s blog is one of my favorites. And if you don’t read her blog- it’s time you start!
Anyhoo- onto my random post.
First of all, I have decided to start posting again every day on Our Happy Happenings. Just posting here at Livin’ With Me is not enough to satisfy my blogging addiction So, if you want to- you can go back to checking there every day too. I’m going to use Our Happy Happenings more for the various daily memes- such as Fun Monday, Tackle It Tuesday, Wordless Wednesday, Thursday Thirteen, and Friday Feast. I’ll still be posting daily here too- so don’t stop visiting me here!
Next on the list of my randomness. Over the weekend Rich and Brooke went to an event that helps to raise money for a charity. There were many people, who in my opinion just might have to be completely crazy. What did the crazy people do? They went into the freezing cold water. The water temperature was 37 degrees and I don’t actually know what the air temperature was at the time, but later in the day when I checked it was in the single digits. (I know some of my Canadian readers are probably thinking, “Wow! Single digits- that sounds great to me.”) So, while I think it’s great that this was done for a charity- I prefer to stay in my warm cozy home and just write a check to help the cause. Anyways- Rich and Brooke were only planning to watch the crazy people. But, apparently it was really hard to see without actually getting in yourself.
And so.
Rich and Brooke ended up in the water. Rich only up to a little above his ankles and Brooke up to her knees. So, they aren’t quite as crazy as some of the people who put their entire bodies into the freezing water.
And now here’s a few pictures of the fun.
The nice balmy water, at 37 degrees
Some amazingly brave people who must have very thick skin
While you can’t exactly see it here, Brooke is in the water. And I can assure you she went in up to her knees because I saw her wet jeans when she got home.
As soon as they got home Brooke went right to the shower to warm up her legs. Of course, Hailey and Dottie had to watch.
And now the last part of my random post. Hailey loves to sit under our kitchen table and is constantly bumping her head. So, we thought maybe she’d like a tunnel so she would have something to climb through. So, here are a few pictures of the new tunnel.
Hailey enjoys crawling through the tunnel.
Dottie also enjoys crawling through the tunnel.
Apparently the tunnel is also a good place to read your Bible.
And also a good place for a quick nap.

I was watching the news this morning and they were talking about the polar bear clubs (I think that is what they are called) and all I could think of was not wanting to get out of my bed to put my feet on the cold wood floor, and I also thought those people are crazy!!
Thos Polar Bear Club people are nuts! I’m with you, I’ll just write a check! My son had one of those tunnels when he was a toddler, and he loved it too! What is it about the simple toys that make them the best?
No way baby, I am like you, I would rather just write a check, lol Hailey looks so cute in her cool tunnel.
Polar bear polar bear, what do you see? I see a bunch of CRAZY people, one of which is not me!
Some of my kids’ favorite toys were the “gerbil tubes” as I so affectionately call them. They are 5 and 7 and STILL get them out to play with . . . sometimes they are a submarine hatch or a space ship instead of a tube, but those things last forever! She and Dottie look so cute in there
The water looks so pretty in the pictures that it’s hard to imagine how cold it really is. Those people are definitely crazy!
I love the pictures of Hailey in the tunnel – heck, all of the tunnel photos are wonderful!
First- thanks for the bloggy love! You are awesome!
You could not pay me to get in that cold water! No way- not going to happen!
Hailey- too cute in her tunnel! Those pigtails- makes me sad and teary eyed for when Ashlyn was small.
That tunnel is SOOOO cute! And Hailey just looks adorable in it – I love the pic of her reading her Bible in there.
I love the pic of Hailey. She is so beautiful. I also love your dog.
CRAZY PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
my kids love there tunnel and Hailey seems to like her just as much.. I love her hair in the reading the Bible pic. Way to cute.
Gues what? Matt loves playing under our kitchen table and this is a wonderful idea. Thanks. So I guess, i’ll be looking for a tunnel oer the weekend then.
Ha! I’m thinking of doing a “Pam-Post” today too (to catch up from being absent for a few days again). I think that’s what I’ll call it!
I loved those pictures. (especially the last one with the legs sticking out…hee hee)
Lovin’ the idea of random posting . . . . sometimes I don’t post at all, even though there are a million thoughts in my head because I wonder if anyone would care what I have to say! Guess it doesn’t matter – I’ll just say it and if anyone wants to read it, then great – if not, I’ll just keep writing. I’ve been very sporadic in my posting for the past couple of months due to illness in our house, but I’m trying everyday to touch base with a few new bloggity friends. Thanks for the encouragement! Nina
