The little hand on her head belongs to Hunter. As I took the picture, he reached out, touched her head, and said, “I just have to feel how soft her hair is.”

Here are some of the things Harper does at 2 months old:

She is a super happy and smiley baby! Sometimes I think she is even doing a little laugh.

Harper loves to talk to us and coo. Her little voice is just the sweetest.

She can roll from front to back.

Harper is still a great sleeper. She doesn’t sleep great during the day, although occasionally she takes some great naps. But, she is wonderful sleeper at night. She’s usually ready for bed around 7:30 and I wrap her up in her swaddle blanket and lay her down in her crib. She makes a few noises and then goes to sleep. Then she sleeps anywhere from 6-10 hours before waking up to eat.

Harper is still breastfeeding and eats anywhere between 2-3 hours during the day. I have had to cut dairy, wheat, and soy out of my diet as we try to figure out a possible allergy she might have. It has been a very hard adjustment, but she’s worth it.

Harper weighs 12 lbs, 4 oz and is 23 inches long. Some of her 0-3 month clothes are starting to get a little tight, but I am not ready to put them away yet. She is still wearing size 2 diapers.

Hailey is in 3rd grade and doing great. We are in our 2nd year of homeschooling and it is going very well. Hailey is a very hard worker and a fast learner and does very well in school.

Hailey is a wonderful big sister. She plays so well with Hunter- of course they have their moments, but they usually play very well together. She is fantastic with Harper and is such a big helper to me.

I sure do love my little miss

Such a little sweetie

Here are a few things that Harper does at 1 month old:

She definitely smiles at us. When we ask her to smile she will do it. I haven’t been able to get a picture yet of her doing it, but I will post one when I can get her to do it for the camera.

Harper is just starting to coo and talk to us and tell us little stories.

Harper loves to watch Hailey and Hunter play. Hunter really loves to entertain her and share his toys with her- and Harper will just sit and watch his busy little body! Hailey loves to hold Harper and snuggle her and Harper loves to smile at Hailey. Harper also loves to look at ceiling fans and she also likes to stare at the curtains in our living room- those were some of Hunter’s favorite things to look at too. Harper is not a fan of tummy time (do babies ever like tummy time?). She would rather just put her head down and go to sleep or cry until I pick her up. Harper loves to be held and does not like it so much when she is put down.

Harper is an excellent sleeper. I am so thankful she sleeps so well! She takes naps through out the day and I haven’t really found a pattern yet. Some days she barely sleeps all day and others she sleeps very soundly for a couple of long naps. At night she always sleeps great. She has been doing one stretch of sleep between 5-7 hours. She wakes up to eat and goes right back to sleep. After her long stretch of sleep she is usually up every 2 or 3 hours to nurse, but she always goes right back to sleep.

Harper is breastfeeding and usually goes between 1-3 hours between feedings during the day.

Harper weighs 11 pounds (77th percentile) and is 22 1/4 inches long (69th percentile). She wears 0-3 clothes and size 2 diapers.

I just had to share this picture to show the Mickey and Minnie that he is holding in his hand. He brings those everywhere! He loves his little Mickey and Minnie.

Hunter is so much fun! I think this age has to be one of my favorites. He talks non stop and tells all sorts of stories. If anyone asks him about Disney World he will talk and talk about our trip that we took- he’ll tell all about the characters we saw, the rides he went on, and what he liked and didn’t like. He loves playing with all of his different Disney figures that he has- he uses different voices for all of his toys and has such an active imagination. He is a super sweet and loving little boy!!

Hunter is 30.6 pounds and is 36.5 inches tall. He wears size 2 T clothes.

18 months

When we say, “Where is Hunter?” he puts his hands over his ears and says, “There he is!”

Hunter loves to line up his cars!

His favorite shoes… Hunter usually asks to have them put on as soon as he wakes up. Sometimes he’ll agree to take them off if we sniff his feet and say, “Stinky feet!” but as soon as he remembers that they are off he asks to put them back on. It’s funny that the shoes are not on in the earlier pictures, but Rich had just done the “stinky feet” game with Hunter. Otherwise those shoes are on from the time he wakes up until he goes to bed. I even hear him say “shoosh” in his sleep, which is how he says shoes.

Whenever Rich mows the lawn (or one of our neighbors), Hunter gets his “mow, mow” and stands here watching Rich mow.

18 months, Hailey- 6 1/2

Changes since 15 months:

Lots of talking! Hunter tries to say everything and is getting really good at communicating what he wants. He has even started to put some words together. The other day after Grandma left our house, he said, “Ma Maw aaaa- gaaaa” (Which means Grandma all gone). It’s impossible to keep track of all of his words.

Hunter now has 3 molars in. He has been pretty grouchy with the molars coming in. It has definitely made sleep harder too. When he isn’t teething his sleep has been pretty good. He usually naps from around 1-3pm each day. He goes to bed around 8pm and usually wakes up about an hour later and comes and gets in bed with us. He sometimes wakes up once or twice during the night and nurses back to sleep. He sometimes nurses to sleep for his nap and at bedtime, but he usually doesn’t want to anymore.

Hunter is such a good eater!! He will eat pretty much anything! And he loves his fruits and veggies. Tomatoes are one of his favorite foods

Hunter knows lots of his body parts, can point to them and can say most of them too. He is also learning his colors, but he thinks that everything is blue, so we’re still working on that He loves books, coloring, painting, Mickey Mouse, cars, trucks, and lawn mowers. He is such a sponge and soaks up everything we say to him. He can follow directions- and even understands things like, “Eat your sandwich first and then you can have a cookie.”

Hunter is 25.3 pounds, which is the 68th percentile and is 33.3 inches tall, which is the 80th percentile. He mostly wears 18-24 month clothes. He wears size 4 diapers during the day, but next time I buy diapers I am going up to 5. He wears size 5 diapers to bed.

I am so blessed!! Hailey 6, Hunter 15 months

Changes since last month:

Hunter tries to say everything! I am going to try to remember his new words, but I know I will miss some- he says yellow, purple, Mickey, Minnie, mo-mo (remote), owwww (he says this whenever I pick up a brush, I think he must hear Hailey complain when I am brushing her hair, ha!). I know there’s a lot more but I just can’t think of anything now… I think I’ll have to stop keeping track since he tries to say so much.

Hunter is a climber! He tries to get into everything! He goes non-stop and tires me out. Hunter loves to go places, he wants to go somewhere every day. He will go and get his shoes and socks (he picks matching shoes too, haha) and sit on the floor and wait for me to put them on while he is saying “ba-ba” (bye, bye). If we don’t have anywhere to go he gets quite grouchy about it. When it is nap time or bed time Hunter will say “nigh, nigh” and then he’ll put out a chair at the dining room table and bring me the boppy. I usually sit at the table looking at my laptop while I hold him until he falls asleep, so he tries to get me to go do that when he’s ready for some rest.

Hunter is still nursing, he usually nurses twice during the day and sometimes once during the night. He is completely on table food and is a pretty good eater. He is willing to try anything and seems to like most everything he tries.

Sleeping has been a bit better… he naps in his infant car seat- a habit we will have to break at some point, but it’s working for now. He usually naps for about 1 1/2 hours in the late morning/early afternoon. He goes to bed at 8 in his bed and then when he wakes up he gets in bed with me and Rich. Some nights he stays in his bed for a half hour, other nights for several hours. We never know what he’s going to do. He usually sleeps all night (he nurses, but is usually asleep) and gets up anywhere between 6-8.

Hunter is 23.9 pounds which is the 38th percentile, and he is 32 inches which is the 72nd percentile. He wears 12-18 month clothes, but is definitely getting close to moving into the 18 month size. He is still wearing size 4 diapers during the day and size 5 for bed time.

Where do these months keep going?? I can’t believe it’s already time for a monthly update. I know I am going to miss stuff this month, it’s just getting too hard to remember all the new things Hunter does. Here are the few new words that I remembered to write down:

Pa-Pa (Hailey has always called my dad “Pa,” but Hunter insists on calling him Pa-Pa
Ma-Maw (Grandma)
Nana
Wasss-sat (what’s that?)
Sah-sah (pacifier)

The only new sign Hunter does is “please” because that’s the only one I showed him. I wish I could remember to teach him more signs.

The other fun thing that has started this month is tantrums… Hunter gets soooo mad and has some major fits. Gotta love that part of being a toddler. Hunter also went down to one nap this month- one day he decided he didn’t want to take a morning nap anymore… so now he takes one nap, he is usually ready for it around noon.

I sure do love this little boy and look forward to our next month together.

I love this age!! Toddlers are so much fun. Busy and exhausting, yes, but also fun.

I tried to get a picture of Hunter playing with his favorite toy, but he decided to do this instead:

Hunter loves to look at books. He brings me books all throughout the day to read to him.

I tried again to get a picture of Hunter with his favorite toy and he decided to do this instead:

I think books are probably his favorite thing, and I hope that is something he continues to love!

Finally Hunter took off with his favorite toy- he loves this popper toy. He plays with it every day and no matter how many times I put it away, he gets it right back out!

Hunter got tooth number 6 this month. Teeth number 7 and 8 are right under his gums. Poor boy!

Here are some of the words that Hunter says at 13 months: (I know I’m forgetting some!)

Mama
Dada
Hay-Yee (Hailey)
Ta (Pa)
nah-nah (no, no)
nigh-nigh (night-night)
tock-tock (tick tock for clock)
aaa-daaa (all done)
hi
hey-yo (hello)
uh-oh
oh-no
ba-ba (bye bye)
mum-mum (yum, yum)

Here are some of the signs that Hunter does. I wish I would remember to do this more often with him as he picks them up quickly, I just forget.

more
all done
brush teeth
wash hands
doggy
bye bye
drink
eat

Hunter goes non-stop pretty much all day long. He plays with his toys, does puzzles, looks at books, empties the cupboards, refuses to eat food off of a spoon or fork, gets into everything in the bathroom, tries to get into Hailey’s room to see all of her toys, plays football with Daddy and Hailey, gives hugs (says awwww while doing it) and kisses, head-butts Dottie and keeps me on my toes!

I can’t wait to see all of the fun things this next month has in store for us!

New things from this month- Hunter is walking! He is so fast and gets into everything!

Hunter hasn’t picked up many new words this month, but he certainly speaks quite a bit of jibberish In addition to the words he started saying last month, he says “tock, tock” which he whispers when he sees a clock and he also says “nigh, nigh” which seems to mean that he is tired or that he wants to nurse.

Hunter is still nursing 2-3 times during the day. Some nights it seems like he wants to nurse constantly and other nights he will only nurse once or twice. He is doing better with table foods. He loves every fruit he has ever tried and does good with his vegetables too. He seems to like meat, but he just chews and chews it and doesn’t swallow it. So for now I’m still using baby food for his meats.

Hunter is 30 1/2 inches long which is in the 60th percentile and he is 22lbs, 5 oz which is in the 45th percentile. He wears 12 month clothes and is still in size 4 diapers.

Hunter got sick the evening before he turned 11 months. He started feeling warm during the evening and by 10:30pm he was super hot and throwing up. I was ready to take him to the ER but his pediatrician talked to me (I LOVE Hailey and Hunter’s pediatrician!) and told me the high fever came with the virus going around and that it was okay, I didn’t need to take him to the ER. Anyways, he wasn’t really in the mood for many pictures, so here are a few that I did take:

Tigger with Hunter, 11 months old

Hailey was home from school, also feeling sick (with a horrible cough). Hailey and Hunter read a book together.

Hunter- 11 months (and not in the mood for anymore pictures) and Hailey- 6 years old.

Earlier this month, Hunter started standing on his own, without holding on. This picture it from a couple of weeks ago, but I had to include his big accomplishment!

Other new things this month:

Hunter’s 5th tooth came in. Yay!

Hunter has a few words… it’s amazing how fast he picks everything up!! He says mama and dada (which stands for Daddy and Dottie). Hunter also says “Hey-yee” for Hailey. He holds phones up to his ear and says “Hey-yo.” His favorite thing to say is “Uh-oh!” He loves to throw things on the floor or “drop” them and say “Uh-oh.” When we ask Hunter what the cow says he gets a big smile and says “Baaaaa.” No matter how many times we tell him it’s “moooo” he still smiles and says “Baaaaa.” Hunter also knows several signs- he does signs for more, eat, drink, doggie and milk.

Hunter gets into everything and definitely keeps me on my toes!! He is one busy little guy. He is funny too- one day he took apart the heating vent in the living room, which he knows he’s not supposed to do. He left it lying on the floor and quickly crawled to the kitchen and sat down. Then every few seconds he would crawl back and peek into the living room at the vent he had taken apart.

Sleep is the same as it always has been.

Hunter is still nursing, he nurses 3 times during the day and usually once or twice during the night. He eats some table foods, but is still mostly eating baby foods. With the table foods he just chews and chews and never swallows, so I guess he’s not really ready for them yet.

No appointment this month, so I don’t know his height/weight. He is still wearing 12 month clothes and wearing size 4 diapers.
