New Years Eve

We had a New Years Eve party at our house this year. Thankfully I didn’t have to actually do any of the work (not only was I still recovering from my c-section, but I was also sick due to a staph infection, but that is coming in another post). I did clean our house some, but for the most part Rich did most of the cleaning. My mom and Ellie did the snack preparation and Matt made some delicious chicken wings for the party. I didn’t even take very many pictures as I just didn’t feel good.

Hunter enjoyed his first New Years Eve He was sound asleep when the ball dropped though.

Hailey had so much fun! She had really been looking forward to seeing Aunt Ellie and Uncle Matt.

My dad… I can’t remember the name of the game and we didn’t actually play it, but we had fun calling out answers rather than playing by the real rules.

We all made it until midnight (except Hunter). Hailey fell asleep about 2 minutes after the ball dropped. It was a fun party… I just wished I had felt better.

Looks like Santa was at our house

(I was happy because Hunter did two 3 hour stretches of sleep the night before! His Christmas present to me.)

Then it was time to go visit the grandparents.

First we went to Rich’s parents’ house. I didn’t take any pictures but Hunter got to meet all of his aunts and uncles on Rich’s side that he hadn’t met yet.

Then we went to my parents’ house for a yummy dinner and more presents.

Christmas Eve 2011

Christmas Eve was a busy day this year. I had so much to get done in between Hunter wanting to eat every hour, regular every day stuff and making sure everything was ready for Christmas. Rich was sick with the stomach bug so he couldn’t do anything to help with everything I needed to get done.

Hailey had been waiting to make cookies for Santa, so that was one thing I had to make sure we got done:

Then it was time to head to Aunt Winnie’s house for Christmas Eve. I was still not allowed to drive because of my c-section and Rich was too sick to go, so my dad had to come over and drive us.

We had a nice time at Aunt Winnie’s house. I didn’t take many pictures though.

When we got home it was time for Christmas Eve presents- new pajamas and a new book.

Hailey was so excited about Santa coming. Every time she talked about him, her eyes would just light up with excitement. It was so magical to see how excited she was.

A Visit to See Santa

We went to the mall over the weekend so Hailey could see Santa. She told me she only wanted to see him if he was the real Santa. She has seen the Santas who clearly have a fake beard on and she is not interested in seeing one of “Santa’s helpers.” Fortunately it was the real Santa at the mall:

Hailey wrote her letter to Santa:

It says:

Dear Santa,
I have been very good. Please bring me a Fijit, Lalaloopsy toys, a Barbie house, Princess Charm School, Lite Sprite toys, Monster High Girls, Polly Pockets, a Princess castle, games and movies. <3 Hailey

Underneath she wrote “ho, ho, ho” and drew a picture of a pond with lots of ducks in it.

On Thanksgiving Day we enjoyed a very yummy dinner at my parents’ house.

The table wasn’t quite ready yet- but I took a picture to show the cute place cards that Hailey made. I never did take a picture of everyone at the table.

The wishbone- Pa won! He wished that the baby would arrive a little earlier than December 16th… let’s hope he didn’t jinx the wish by telling what he wished for!

When we went out front to take a picture with the pumpkins we saw this spider. I’ve never seen such a huge spider. When we screamed for Rich to come see it he was even surprised at the size of it.

Hailey’s 5th Birthday Party

Hailey had a great birthday party!! She loved it and was so happy that everyone came. Thanks to everyone who helped to make her party extra special!

Hailey’s Birthday Celebrations

Hailey did not have school on her birthday this year, so we had to celebrate with her class on the day before her birthday.

She wore her birthday shirt to school and was very proud of it!

I brought in cupcakes to celebrate her birthday at school. While waiting for Hailey and her class to come back from the playground I was able to talk to Hailey’s teacher for a few minutes. She told me that Hailey is the sweetest little girl ever. So I told her I thought so too Hailey’s teacher said, “I really mean it. I’ve met a lot of kids and Hailey is just the sweetest girl.” It made me so happy to hear her say that!

When the class came back Hailey got to pick a friend to help pass out the cupcakes and drinks. She picked a little boy named L… according to Hailey’s teacher L is in love with Hailey. During sharing time that day he had told the class that Hailey was the most beautiful girl in the class.

After the cupcakes were passed out Hailey got to wear the special birthday hat while the class sang to her.

She was so excited!

The next day (Friday) was Hailey’s actual birthday and there wasn’t any school. She woke up nice and early, very excited about it being her birthday. After she quickly ate her breakfast and got dressed we let her open her presents.

She was very excited about everything she got! She spent the day playing with all of her new toys.

To celebrate her birthday, Hailey had requested we go to the Olive Garden to eat dinner- she loves eating there!

After dinner we came back to our house with Grandma and Pa to have cake and some more presents.

My mom made this beautiful princess cake and Hailey absolutely loved it!

Hailey said her birthday was wonderful! I’m so glad she enjoyed her special day!! (Her party with her friends is next weekend, so I’ll post more pictures after that party.)
