Since I am due to have our baby boy any day now I have been trying to get all of my Christmas shopping done.  The most difficult person on my list to buy for is Rich.  Every year he is difficult and says he doesn’t want anything.  Of course I can’t just give him nothing for Christmas, but it’s so hard to come up with ideas for him.

During the summer I upgraged my cell phone.  I got an HTC EVO 4G phone.  Rich had no interest in upgrading his phone.  The funny thing is that when he wants to use the internet he prefers to use my phone rather than his.  So I’ve been thinking about getting him a new phone.  I absolutely love the HTC EVO 4G!!  And Hailey is a big fan of it too.  If Rich had one then Hailey could play with his phone instead of always playing with my phone

We have been with Sprint for a long time and plan to stay with them.  We get unlimited texting, roaming and data.  And we have a lot of minutes too- although I don’t actually know how many we get hahahaha.  No one can beat the deal we get with Sprint- I have shopped around.  And right now you can get the HTC EVO 4G or the EVO Shift for free!  So I’m very seriously considering upgrading Rich to of the Android™ powered EVO 4G devices.  If you’re getting a new line of service the activation fee will be waived.  The deal is only good until December 14th… so I need to decide what to do.  Can’t really beat free though

So- where was I?  Telling all of my visitors a bit about myself- I am married to the love of my life, Rich.  I am step-mom to 15 year old Brooke (who will be 16 in April) and I am mommy to 17-month old Hailey. 

When Hailey was born I decided to leave my teaching job to stay home full time with her.  A little over a year ago I was playing around on the Internet one day and I thought, “Hmmmm, I think I’ll try starting a blog.”  I thought that maybe I would upload some pictures once or twice a month to share with family and friends so that they could see what we were up to.

And now?  Well, I have two blogs and I post several times a day on both of them.  I am truly addicted.  (And by the way, if you haven’t joined my Blogaholics Anonymous Blogroll do be sure to check that out and leave me a comment if you’d like to join.)

I think I’m a pretty typical mommy blogger.  For the most part my blog is all about me and my family and the stuff that happens here from day to day.  I write about the adventures of being a stay-at-home mommy to a toddler, I talk about the fun I have with my family, and I complain about trying to lose some pregnancy weight (can I still call it that, 17 months later?). 

I’ve also recently started hosting Meme Monday where we save up all of our memes and post them each Monday.  It’s a way to help everyone keep up with all of the memes we get tagged to do.  So, if you’d like to join in- stop by on Monday and sign Mr. Linky so that all of the participants can check out your memes.

One of my favorite blogs, and one I read everyday, is BooMama.  Her posts are always excellent, but I just have to tell you that this week- her posts have really been touching me.  She is in Uganda right now with Compassion where a team of bloggers have been live blogging about what they have been seeing.  One post in particular, The Faces, left me with tears streaming down my face.  Some of the things I worry about and think are important just do not even matter.  I have never seen or even imagined the poverty that BooMama has been talking about.  It never even occurred to me that children could be so poor that they wouldn’t even know what their own faces looked like- because they have never even seen a mirror.  I have just been rethinking what truly matters and how fortunate we really are.
