Before I was a mom:
– I swore I’d never clean my kid’s face with my own spit.
– I never left the house in less than full makeup and a perfectly matched outfit
– I took showering every day for granted
– I never knew I was such a comfortable sleeping spot

Before I was a mom, I didn’t realize just how much I could accomplish in just one day. Or how much could be on my plate and still survive (tonsillectonly for one child, start new job in a new grade, tubes in ear for other child…..)

Before I was a mom, I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn’t want to put it down. I never was up in the wee hours of the night just watching a baby while it slept. I never knew that something so small couldn’t effect my life so tremendously.
I read that once and it is so true and before I was a mom I never realized how much I would love being a mom.

I’m with Carol.
I didn’t know that the midnight news…the one with Anderson cooper (well..where he USED to be) would replay all it’s stories over and I’d be stuck watching them because we don’t get anything else.

I didn’t know about vomit. You know — really.

I didn’t know that I would hate bunk beds. Which goes back to the vomit thing..

oh, it’s funny — I didn’t know how much I’d like my kids.

Before I was a mom, I didn’t know what was on late night television.
I didn’t know there really was two 3 o’clocks in a 24 hour time period.
I had never seen that special baby smile that lights up your heart directed at me.
